Current opportunities:

There are lots of ways to get involved in ministry at Northminster.  First, come to worship!  Our Sunday morning services are the heart of our community.  It is our time to ground ourselves in the faithfulness of God, to be meet the risen Christ, and to be renewed in the Holy Spirit.

Spiritual Formation is important to us.  We offer a variety of Sunday morning opportunities, usually at 9:45, as well as weekday morning or evening studies held seasonally.

Mission to our local community is perhaps our highest priority.  Girl Scouts have been meeting at our church for at least 30 years. In addition, we host 2 AA meetings, the Chattanooga Area Mothers of Multiples, Lake Hills Neighborhood Association, and Bridge Refugee Services.

Interfaith Hospitality Network and Room in the Inn are two ongoing missions of the church.  Contributions and volunteers are always needed for these organizations.  Meals are prepared and served regularly for teachers and staff at Lakeside Academy, our neighborhood elementary school.  The Outreach Committee regularly explores other opportunities for serving our neighbors.

Within the congregation, there are also opportunities for ministry.  The Mow Squad, a group of volunteers who takes great care of our grounds, can always use extra support.  Volunteer secretaries tend the office four mornings a week.   Several folks gather monthly to copy and fold the newsletter and get it to the post office.  New Sunday School teachers are always welcome, and the choir covets new voices, no matter how experienced you are.  In addition, the responsibility for caring for the sick and downhearted is shared by our Pastoral Partners.  The worship team, which is responsible for creative and thoughtful worship services, needs all your artistic and dramatic talents.
